We started the day with the usual FVR. After a few minutes, we stopped FVR and started Word Within a Word stems. We read sentences with one word missing, then we had to figure out which word fits best, based on stems. Once we finished WWW we had a quick transition to SoW using the Grammar song! Brrring that brings us to lunch. After lunch, we had a few minutes of FVR. After we finished up FVR, we started the reading minute. Today's reading minute was about where you think Wonderland is. Then we commented on a poem called My Fairy by Lewis Carroll and The Musn'ts by Shel Silverstein. We finished off the day with the 2 minute count down. That ends another great day in Mrs. Ott's English class.

Today we started out with some F.V.R time, Next we did a WWW 4 review activity. In this activity, we were given a word along with a question and asked to answer the question. After that, we were asked to type the stems we had just heard. Next we were told you have 2 minutes to get ready, we all knew what time it was and there went the grammar time song and we started our S.O.W.Brriiinnnggg there goes the lunch bell, time for lunch. After lunch, we continued to work on our S.O.W.'s. After that, we took an Alice in Wonderland quote quiz on Edmodo. Before we knew it there went the bell again and it was sadly time to leave :(

All of a sudden it was fifth period and we all went to Mrs. Ott's classroom. We turned in our AoW and had FVR. Then, we went on our Chromebooks and looked up an app called memrise that helps you study for the right amount of time and puts all of the knowledge into your long term memory. Then, we took our SoW quiz on independent and dependent clauses. After that, we played around with memrise on our computers. And then BRRIINNNGG there goes the bell! After lunch, we grabbed our computers and headed into the library for a special surprise. It turns out that we were talking about close reading which is basically reading in between the lines. Then, we had an activity. Each of our tables was given a colored piece of paper that represented a stanza in the poem "The Jabberwocky."

We started out class in a very peculiar way. No FVR, and went straight into our WWW tests. Without a break, we started our quote quizzes and some of us finished our Snapshots. Then our starving stomachs went off to lunch. We're back now. We rushed to get our SoWs ready while our wonderful song was played. Our SoW of the day was learning what the difference between a subject and an object pronoun. Next, we went on Edmodo and voted for our favorite prompt for our Alice essays and then made a document with our ideas to make our papers successful. These prompts gave us our groups that we then split into to share with them our ideas. When we were all done with that, we gave our full attention to a presentation about five paragraph essays. And of course, we ran out of time. That's all folks.

We started off the day as usual. FVR and quietly earning a point. We then used an article written by Noah Fahn for Reading Minute. We went directly into GRA and read chapter 9. We started to study for our mega-test. We carried on this activity until lunch. We came back and worked on it for a very concise amount of time. Next, we used our spirals the right way! We started working on our Alice Essays. We started working on our theses and bridges. Two minute Countdown and we're off to eighth period

Today we were greeted with our new AOW's in the bin, and the kind sub standing in the doorway although we did miss you lots Mrs. Ott! Then all of us were given time to start reading our AOW and went straight into some casual FVR. The sub began reading Ch. 11-12 in The Fourteenth Goldfish, our GRA book. The bell cut us short and was the dismissal to go eat some yummy lunch. We came back and concluded our reading. We were explained all of our options to do for the rest of the period. They include:

Today was a very unusually. People turned in their AOWs that they redid, we switched jobs and we switched seats! Then we went right to the reading minute. Except this time, it was different. Instead of writing a one sentence summary, we wrote a one sentence reflection. The video was about the Blackhawks helping a boy from the Make A Wish foundation. After that we continued working on our Alice essays. Alice shared his essay and we practiced peer editing. Then the bell rang and we were off to lunch. I had pizza and I microwaved my cookie and it was delicious. Outside it was fresco (cool). We are back from lunch. We continued looking at Alic's introduction paragraph and gave him some constructive criticism, but overall he did a great job. We continued working on our essays for a very long time. And then Eddy (our new two minute countdown) rang the bell thingy and we went off to exblock.

Today was a great day, but things changed for it's the start of the second quarter. Mrs. Ott handed out Eagle Wings to us for having TWO good reports from subs. Then, we played something called Kahoot. After our yummy lunch, we came back to class and worked on our Alice essays. We went over the evidence of the body, and worked on our body paragraphs. And, the bell rings. Bye!
