1. For the first month of school, I conduct the Reading Minute. I will select an interesting passage or article to
read. 2. After I read my selection, you will write a one-sentence summary or thesis statement to remember the Reading Minute. This will be written as a comment and should start with your name and period. For example: "Suzanne Ott- 8-9- This is my one sentence summary." 3. In October, YOU will begin leading the Reading Minute. You will sign up on the calendar for the remainder of the school year. I suggest adding these dates to your personal Edmodo or Google calendar. You must sign up for five days between October and June. On the days you sign up, you are responsible for the Reading Minute. If any open days remain, I will conduct the Reading Minute. 4. When a student finishes sharing, the class is required to say, “Thank you.” 5. At the end of the school year, you should have 150-180 summary sentences of all the interesting reading that was shared! |
