There are many learning opportunities that can still take place even though school is out. Check these out below and maybe even some of your families would like to participate.
Highland Park Public Library Summer Reading Program (theme is Read to the Rhythm) ***Chicago City of Learning (a massive partnership between the city of Chicago, universities, museums, charitable organizations, and businesses that encourages learning both digitally and provides programs and networking opportunities, I think this one is really cool) Museum of Science and Industry Fab Lab Design Squad (PBS program that encourages making and design thinking with games and tutorial videos) Maker Camp (Make Magazine's program with Google to encourage kids of all ages to make, includes information on projects, virtual field trips, and a entire community to connect with) Honorable mention: Meatheads Summer Reading Program (read 5 books and get a free kids burger). |
