Happy New Year! I am truly honored to be here in this very room reading the very first scribe post of 2015. Welcome back. I hope everyone had a good break, but is now ready to get back to work. We started our socks and slippers day with some FVR. After FVR, we watched some 90 Second Newbery videos that were not shared before break. We then talked about our new unit/new habit/long term homework. Mrs. Ott is challenging us further known as making us read one poem a night. (In a good way Mrs. Ott, don't worry):) We then were permitted and given the clear for take off to read the rest of the period. BRRRRIINNNGGG! There goes the bell! Off to lunch.

We started the day with a grueling, yet fun, MEGA WWW test. After you were finished with that everyone started FVR at their own pace. We spent a good 7 minutes reading, then went and watched Eddy's 90 second Newberry on Holes. Then we watched Alec "present" his Scribe post and read an encouraging quote Mrs. Ott picked out and then he read a poem. Mrs. Ott then told us that we would be starting to read the Wind in the Willows, personally, I got excited. We choose our essay prompts via Edmodo. After that we made a Wind in the Willows folder and inside of that, made a document titled Wind in the Willows essay. So much Wind in the Willows! Some people started to read pages 7 and 8 just as the bell rang. We came back from lunch and "RECCES" and went right back into the flow of things, reading the Wind in the Willows. Then we started to make fun chants that would eventually get us quiet. We chose none today because many people weren't taking it seriously but will figure something out another day. Then we started reading chapter one of the Wind in the Willows, we didn't finish so that was assigned as Homework. We ended the day with the two-minute countdown and were off to 8th period.

Duh nuh duh nuh nuh... FVR. Afterward, Mrs. Ott pulls up a page full of call and responses. We chose "Flat tire... Shhh." Now it's time for the spelling bee! Zach and Chance have entered the school spelling bee.

We started off the day by taking our (yes, hardcover) AoW and did FVR. Then we listened to Grant (Sneor) read his SS post and he picked MEEEE!!!! Then, we discussed iRead that is on a spreadsheet in your email. If you were not at school on Monday, please make a copy of this spreadsheet and put it in you english folder in your drive. NOTE: iRead is only reading at home! Then we discussed our AoW which is about Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech and watched a rap song about the speech. All of a sudden, it was lunch and recess.

Let's just skip the part where we started off our day with FVR and blah blah blah, surprise surprise. Then we picked new jobs. Of course, everybody wanted the famous 2 minute countdown, but the choice was up to Eddy and that was Zach. What. Really. Come ON. I wanted that:( After that we read Eddy's SS and then luckily he picked MEEEEE. Then Eddy lead the discussion on today's POD. Why does Eddy get to do everything?!?! After our deep discussion, Mrs. Ott shows us yet another rap. Snazzy choice Mrs. Ott. Love the tune. Then we choose a song of our own to make a parody to help us remember our WWW list 11. While choosing we rock out to back in black. RINNNGGG. Lunch time!

It is a lovely Monday! Ha ha, just kidding! Tuesdays are wayyyyy better. Today is quiet the winds are not howling, people are taking tests, and there are 8 kids in the classroom- wait what? Yes, today the chorus kids are not here (Well until 7th period). Today we didn't do FVR (crazy huh?) instead we go straight to our WWW pre and post tests. Mrs.Ott tells us where to put our I read and John has the most minutes of our class with an outstanding 3941! After doing all of that we have a choice of reading The Wind in the Willows or working on our AOW which this time around is a VOW (Video of the week). It is called 'doctors make mistakes' to me that sounds scary. .......BRRRIIIINNNGGG............ LUNCH............. BRRRRIIIINNNNGG

We started off our day with a long, calming, FVR. Then Michaela read her SS post, picked me for SS and Richard (Maya) read the POD. (Alec obviously didn't get picked). Then we went over the VoW. On edmodo, we will comment a short response about the VoW. And then, we are going to write a normal AoW page but without authors craft because it is a speech. Then, we talked about John Green's tweet about Barak Obama's reference to Divergent. Then, we wrote four line poems to help us remember list 12. We ended off fifth period with GRA and we were off to lunch!

We started off the day with a very quiet FVR. It was tempting to break the silence, but all of us resisted. We chose student scribe (not Alex, oops. Alec) and then did our POD. It was a concise poem, which was a nice hiatus from our usual poems. After that, we had two surprise guests. Eighth graders. They tried their hardest to cheer our WWW stems with us, and they eventually got it. Mostly. We were then dismissed by the bell and we were off in an instant.

We start off our day with the usual FVR, and WWW retakes. Noa then read her non-amiable scribe post. When that hurtful reading ceased, Noa then read the POD. It was about a person who was in the spelling be, and spelled their word wrong. Mrs. Ott then interupted, and picked mmmmmmmmeeeeeeee to be the scribe. Not Izzi, Maya, Kyle, or anyone else. HAHAHA!!! Good luck Chance and Zach in the spelling bee. (This was ment for yestersay.) We then watched some 90 SN that made it into the screening. Congrats to everyone that made it in. Also, congrats to the whole class on making it in the Highland Park Patch. The bell than rang, concluding our first half of class. I won't return (Dandandan) for the second half because of the spelling bee. Good luck again Chance and Zach. Happy Friday everyone! See you next week! Sadly.:( :( :(

We started off the first day of spirit week with some shoutouts, AOW and FVR. Then Alec read his SS post and surprisingly picked me!!!!!! (I didn't really want to scribe though) But then he read the POD and talked about the auction that Mrs. Ott is hosting!!! Then we worked on the five paragraph essay that we are writing about TWITW for the rest of the period.

We started of class with taking our WWW test, then moved on to the usual FVR(shocker). When FVR ended Mrs. Ott talked to us for a little bit about spirit week after hours. After that we filled out the i read master chart. Then we moved on to the poem of the day, Eagle Plain, a poem about the America’s symbol, The Bald Eagle. We discussed it for a few minutes and the continued class. Mrs. Ott did read aloud for the rest of the period. Brrriiing. Thats the end of period 5 of to lunch.

We started the day with FVR. Next, Mrs. Ott told us about new items at the auction. Then, Holden began auctioning off the items, but eventually things began to get out of hand. Eventually, the bell rang and we went to lunch.

We started off the day with FVR, oh wait, we didn't! Who am I kidding, we had to take the worst thing ever, WWW tests. Why do you torture us like this, Mrs. Ott? Anyway, after taking annoying tests about words and STUFF, the class went onto reading John's horrible scribe post and read an "interesting poem" about puppies and kittens. Good news, we're famous! Mrs. Ott read us an article about the 90 Second Newbery and the other lucky periods were interviewed. By the way, yayyyyy we have more homework for tomorrow. Don't forget to right 3-5 questions for the Socratic Seminar on Wind in the Willows. That'll be fun! Once again, thanks for everything Mrs. Ott, I really love homework. Back from adventurous and yummy lunch, we read an amazing chapter of Out Of My Mind. Great book, kids!!! For the rest of the period, our Wind in the Willows essay was worked on. That's all for today folks. Have a nice life (a.k.a. Period 8888888888888899800808098989898! Hehehehhehehhehehehhehehehehhehehe!!!!

Today, our FVR was the Socratic Seminar Rules. Yep, that's right. Today's the Socratic Seminar for Wind in the Willows. Then, Jordana read her horrible scribe post (right back at ya). Mrs. Ott then did read aloud for the rest of the period.
