Today, Evan started off by reading his student scribe post and the POD. We then talked about our AOW on Newsela. Make sure to put it on the Lexile of 1020. After that, we studied our WWW list 1-15 on quizlet. After, we worked on The Giver activities using the Live binder.

Today we started off with FVR, we are still in the library due to French testing, but we found out that Mrs Farrell is going to be posting the March Madness for books this afternoon. Then, we watched "it's all about that park" it was scary because teachers from a different school and people were scared and confused. After that, we watched another video on the PARCC testing called "Uptown Parcc" it was... interesting, but better than the ''all about that Parcc.'' Additionally, we did The Amazing Grammar Race. Finally, we finished with The Giver reading and writing. No homework.

Today was an eventful day in Mrs. Ott's classroom. We began with FVR. Then, Nate read the student scribe. You didn't fail this time, Nate. Thumbs-up! Next, Mrs. Ott taught us about the Academy Awards for the Eighth-Grade Allegories (Allegory: a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one). We read their summaries and watched their videos. All of their allegories were influenced by the book Animal Farm. Fantastic job, eighth-graders! Then, we voted as tables for our favorite allegory, our favorite lead actor, our favorite supporting actor, our favorite lead actress, our favorite supporting actress, the movie with the best film editing, the movie with the best sound editing, the movie with the best writing, and the movie with the best costumes. Then, Mrs. Ott broke the law! She began reading us a book she's never read before, the 2015 Newbery Award winning book, Crossover. All in all, today was a superlative day in Mrs. Ott's classroom! *Wink*

Today, we started with PARCC and then SS. Ryan left so James read his SS. Ryan made us wave to him on the plane and say "Don't leave. We need your smartness and awesomeness!!!!!!" After we Ryan made us put our right ( probably hand but we don't know for sure ) on our hearts and repeat after him (James).

Today in Mrs. Ott’s class, we started with WWW List 16 Pretest. As per usual, you can find this on Edmodo. Announcement: If you haven’t voted on March Madness Round 2, you can also find this on Edmodo, under the link to the Edgewood IMC. After we did the Pretest, we worked on the The Giver (repetition intended) projects. When we got bored (not that cutting up The Giver until it’s smaller than those bite-sized brownies is boring) at that, we started Read-Aloud. Nothing new; just the usual paranoid rantings of Ryan. We watched a new video; the password is Pitandpendulum. Very paranoid. When we finished that, we went back to our brownie-making. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

We started off with a different schedule today. We started off with Skeleton Creek. We got to listen to Ryan try to convince himself that he wasn’t suffering from amnesia. Then James read his student scribe. After that we looked at a cloud with a bunch or nature related words inside of it. Our POD was I wandered Lonely As A Cloud ready by James. We then had to make a visual analysis of the poem. We then turned to talk and we talked with out table members. We then used textual evidence to describe what is happening in our picture. Following we got 3 min. to study list WWW #16. With 1 minute left this really loud alarm went off and the pressure was on. When the time ended Mrs. Ott was our enthusiastic cheerleader. We watched a video about Paul Smith who was born with cerebral palsy and he makes amazing pieces of art with a typewriter. Finally with the rest of the period we did the giver.

Today was an appreciable day in Mrs. Ott's classroom. We began with a pleasant F.V.R. Then, we worked on, "The Giver." for quite a while. Mrs. Ott recommends you to be on or close to chapter 18. Next, we listened to Mrs. Ott read the book, "Skeleton Creek," aloud to us. Today, there was a video. Password: amotillado. Read aloud took us until the end of class today. All in all, today was a marvelous day in Mrs. Ott's classroom.

We started off the day with a quick video on prepositions, it is on Edmodo, under apps on eduCanon, click on the dog and you are there. There are questions that are every few minutes. Then, we transitioned into a poem where we crossed out all prepositional phrases. After, I read the poem without them, it was funny how boring it was. Additionally, we did some quizzing on WWW #16, most people have to study tonight, to say the least (I know I do.) Once first period ended, we went straight to reading the read aloud book and read for a long time. Finally, we ended with the Amazing Grammar Race.

Welcome back from your spring break. We started off our day differently today. Since we switched seats we all had to go off on a search for our new seats. We have a new rule, you must start the day off in your own seat! Not in one of the chairs! Then we picked new people for our class jobs. After Mrs. Ott checked everyone for slippers and a book we all started FVR. We took a break from reading after 1rst period was over. We read skeleton creek and watched a video. After watching our video we went back to FVR for the rest of the period.
